A bluish brown Leptonia with a pellucid-striate fibrillose cap that is often tinged blue towards the margin and beautiful powder-blue gills with a dark blue line along the edge. It is found in grassland and meadows on acid peaty soils or in Sphagnum bogs, occasionally in xerophytic calcareous grasslands. It is widespread but uncommon.
