Literature listed under the following higher taxa may be relevant to Hygrocybe ceracea (Butter Waxcap):

A small yellow waxcap with a greasy cap, adnate to decurrent gills and a dry stem. Microscopically it is characterised by short cells in the gills trama and narrow, usually constricted spores. The toadstool is common and widespread occurring in troops, sometimes clustered, in grassland, unfertilised lawns, in fixed dunes and on bare soil or among mosses in rich deciduous woodland or scrub. The yellow waxcaps have been much confused in the past and old records should be treated with caution.
