Specimen PreparationLive specimens or skulls. Measurements of the total length and lengths of foot, tail and ear are useful.
Identification difficultyBats and small mammals can be difficult, even in the hand. With the danger of damage to the animal and infection of the handler, live animals should not be handled without training and the proper protective equipment.
