Review (by Malcolm Storey)

Dichotomous key to adults with species entries describing habitat, frequency and distribution. It is followed by a key to larvae (p36).

Unusually for these handbooks, longer species accounts follow the keys.

Examine Stereo Microscope ( Compound Microscope is also useful)
Specimen Preparation

Pinned specimens. Dissection of genitalia may be required in Trogoderma and Attagenus (see P 17).

Larvae should be final instar (choose the largest and most heavily pigmented), macerated for 30mins in hot weak KOH, then mounted in glycerine for viewing under a compound microscope. Some dissection may also be needed. (P 35)
