NewsSubsequent DNA work on Leccinum has shown the majority of new species introduced by Lannoy & Estades to be merely habitat-induced variations.
Examinein the hand in the Hand ( Compound Microscope is also useful)
Specimen PreparationCut flesh for colour changes. Microscopy needed in some sections, esp Xerocomus and Leccinum.
Identification difficultyXerocomus and Leccinum, in the modern sense, require careful examination.
