Review (by Malcolm Storey)An account of, and keys to, this small group of bee parasites. Identification is based on the pronotum shape and the antenna length. The species accounts cover biology and what is known of their choices of hosts. All our species seen since 1940 are illustrated with colour paintings.
Errata, Corrigenda & CommentsRoger Booth (pers. com.) points out that the colour differences between *M. proscarabeus* and *M. violaceus* are not reliable and they should be distinguished by the shape of the thorax.
