"… sterile gill edge with cystidia …" [The cheilocystidia continue to develop as the fruitbody ages, eventually forming a thick line like dirty grey hoar frost along the gill edge. This allows specimens with faded caps to be distinguished from *E. griseocyaneum* which has a fertile gill edge. MWS] |
