Massee, G., 1911

British Fungi with a chapter on Lichens (British Fungi and Lichens)

An early monograph covering our entire mycota, although it concentrates on the basidiomycetes and gives very short shrift to the ascomycetes and lichens. Keys to families and genera, and partial keys to species.

This major work from Massee, who was based at Kew Botanical Gardens, appeared three years after the similar-sized opus from Smith of the Britsh Museum... Some competition perhaps?
