Review (by Malcolm Storey)

The Database of British Insects and their Foodplants (DBIF) is a reincarnation of the Phytophagous Insect Data Bank (PIDB) created within the NERC Institute of Terrestrial Ecology (now Centre for Ecology and Hydrology). This project, years ahead of its time, was developed from the late 1970’s when computers had the processing power of pocket calculators and each filled its own air-conditioned room.

An amazingly comprehensive resource.
