Review (by Malcolm Storey)Notes the distribution of Box Rust and notes that it is never found on recent plantings. It is apparently confined to large, old trees and bushes in stately homes etc. with a few occurrences on wild trees in areas where Box is thought to be native. The infections persist on the same tree for many years without spreading to adjacent plants.
