Beginner coleopterists will perhaps be surprised at the emphasis on dissection to check aedeagi and spermathecae. This is the first of a planned series of four volumes which is intended to cover the adults of our entire beetle fauna. The other volumes are to follow at intervals of a few years, and not necessarily in numerical order. This replacement for Joy’s "Practical Handbook" is long overdue! |
| Errata, Corrigenda & Comments | The key to *Gnathoncus* in BBI1 is based on a faulty key and will not work well for *G. buyssoni* in particular. A review of the British *Gnathoncus* species by Steve Lane, Andrew Duff & Martin Collier, with a new key, has been submitted for publication in The Coleopterist. |
