Review (by Malcolm Storey)

At last! A decent modern account of slugs!

The keys take a bit of getting used to as they switch from landscape to portrait, and from single page to spread.

Beware of using the keys without recourse to the final printed guide as there is much useful information in the species accounts.

Examine with x8 or x10 hand lens
Identification difficultyA very difficult group: colour variability, species complexes in the large common Arions and the small common Deroceras, and the young of larger species are often difficult to distinguish from adults of smaller species.
