Review (by Malcolm Storey)Truffles are dependent on being eaten. This study examined the effect of passage through a pig gut on the spores of Summer Truffle. The spores were freed from the ascus and the walls eroded but the spores remained viable and formed mycorrhiza with oak roots more readily than untreated spores.
