Review (by Malcolm Storey)

A critical evaluation of the names used for our terrestrial and freshwater molluscs. Originally published in 2005 but updated in 2008.

Several familiar names turned out to be not so easily recognised by morphology, or even complexes of cryptic species, and are reduced to "cf" pending critical work to establish the true situation.

The species affected are: Mercuria cf. similis, Cochlicopa cf. lubrica, Cochlicopa cf. lubricella, Euconulus cf. alderi, Euconulus cf. vfulvus, Vallonia cf. excentrica.

A summary can be downloaded from the Conch. Soc. website.
