| Review (by Malcolm Storey) | The first volume (and only one published) in a projected monograph on the British mites. Introductory chapters cover life history and classification, with a key to the seven orders (p58-9). Subsequent chapters cover free-lving mites, species associated with plants, vertebrates and invertebrates, and ticks. Many species are figured and their habits described, but this is a long way short of being an identification guide. There are host indexes for the species mentioned. |
