Review (by Malcolm Storey)

A guide to finding rare flowers. The book is split into seven sections corresponding to different parts of the British Isles: Home Counties, West Country, Isles of Scilly, East Anglia, Wales, Northern Counties and Scotland.

The Home Counties are divided into Thames Valley, North & South Downs, New Forest, Coastal Area and Isle of Wight

The Northern Counties are divided into Derbyshire, Lancashire, North Yorkshire, Co. Durham and Cumbria & Northumberland.

Different plants are listed for each area, although of course they may also grow in other areas. Each plant’s entry includes a site where it can be seen and is faced by a photograph. The flowering period is also given.
