Review (by Malcolm Storey)

The book is arranged by host plant in taxonomic order (CTW, 1962). For each plant genus, the galls are described and cross-referenced to the illustrations. These are grouped in a colour section near the front of the book comprising 80 colour plates containing 293 photographs, photomicrographs, diagrams and paintings by M.J.D. Hirons.

The quality of the colour printing is rather poor, but the galls are recognisable.
