Specimen Prep. Specimens killed by gentle heat (p16), fixed in 2-4% formalin and mounted in glycerol or lactophenol.
Difficulty A good microscope with at least phase contrast and probably differential interference contrast (DIC) is needed to make out minute structural details of hyaline tissues.
